Winter is really real (but not on this morning)
June 18, 2013
Sunday mornings are for the market. One of my favourite outings and one of Rob's least favourite, but only if he has to get the fruit and vegetables. Which he doesn't, so he doesn't mind it (he says). We hadn't been in a while thanks to the busy, busy lead up to our Sydney work-cation (if you can have vacation and stay-cation you can have work-cation) and when we got there we were starving. Those donuts are incredible. Hot, jammy and sugary, they make them while you watch and throw them into a bag, 6 for $6. Yum yum. We've been getting more interested in the food trucks lately, I just don't remember them being there more than a few months ago but we think we might have always been coming too late. I'm not super adventurous any more when it comes to food being cooked in the middle of a car park, though that might have something to do with having been either pregnant or breastfeeding for the last (almost) 3 years. Holy holy, seriously, I had a 1 month break between weaning Violet and being pregnant with Beatie, that sounds crazy out loud (on paper)! Or it might have something to do with the fact that most of the dishes are meaty. There are some delicious looking soups and gumbos served in bread bowls that might change my mind though and I did have a few bites of that potato stick. It was delicious. It definitely kept Rob and Violet entertained on their bench in front of our favourite produce stand while I bought enough 'bee nanas' to last an obsessed little friend of mine oh, about 2 days.
