A post about hairdressing

May 29, 2013

We're in the countdown to Hair Expo in Sydney, where hopefully we will find out that Rob has won Australian mens hairdresser of the year. Fingers crossed. We're busy booking accommodation and flights, trying to book babysitters for the hotel for the awards night and Rob has about a million projects to finish before we go. The most time consuming one being a video to show during a demonstration he's giving at the Expo, not related to the award. It's shaping up to be really, really cool and I hope I get to post it here in a few weeks. Not to mention he still has to run the salon and see clients. Let's just say routines have fallen apart around here for now. It will all be worth it when we're in Sydney enjoying a break from Melbourne. Isn't it weird how just getting out of your own city, even if you're still working, feels like a holiday? Meanwhile, in salon at Biba Clifton Hill, one of Rob's apprentices is trained in photography and has been taking some awesome pictures of the team doing hair.

There are lots more on their Facebook page: Biba Clifton Hill. So anyway, that's what my lover does in his spare time (ha), what about yours?
